VIRTUAL EVENT: #CreateBecauseWeCare Art Contest 2020 | What’s happening in Orange County

VIRTUAL EVENT: #CreateBecauseWeCare Art Contest 2020

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 05/02/2020
Each day during this pandemic, many of us across New York City and the world unite at 7PM to #ClapForOurCarers and #ClapBecauseWeCare to show support for our incredible health care and essential workers. Inspired by this movement, we at Big Screen Plaza have started #CreateBecauseWeCare, a public art contest to broadcast all-day messages of support, thanks, and hope on our 30-foot digital billboard in the heart of New York City! Whether you’re working from home and need an activity to keep yourself or the kids busy, or are itching to shout-out positive messages to those on the frontlines, we encourage submissions from all perspectives and corners of the globe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

ABOUT BIG SCREEN PLAZA:
Big Screen Plaza is a 10,000 sq. ft. public plaza located in Manhattan between the Empire State Building and Madison Square Garden that features a 30 ft. HD digital screen. Throughout the year, the screen displays a rotating collection of digital exhibitions, including photography, animation, visual art, and more. While social distancing rules are currently in place, many of the people walking through the plaza during this time are health care and essential workers. This is a great opportunity to provide them with encouraging messages of hope, optimism, and thanks.
